New Year, New Deep Cleaning Routine
Can you start the new year without a good deep clean of your home?! I know I can’t! I was raised by my grandmother who always stressed deep cleaning and doing all of your laundry before January 1st. If you didn’t get to your new year deep clean done yet, that’s fine! I put a deep clean of my home on my schedule monthly. Monthly deep cleans are especially necessary during the cold & flu season when you have kids at home, and winter is not over yet! Recently I headed to The Home Depot to grab some Clorox cleaning supplies and I’ve partnered with them to share with you how I make sure my house is disinfected for the New Year!
If you’ve been following me for a while over on Instagram, and watch my Instastories, then you know that I love a good “me time” run to The Home Depot. Last year we moved back into our home that we’ve rented out for the past six years and I’ve done quite a few DIY projects. The Home Depot is my go to place for supplies!
I’ve done a DIY kitchen makeover, I’ve been painting, and my husband even installed a new toilet and bidet in our bathroom. Not only do I shop for DIY & gardening supplies at The Home Depot, but I also grab cleaning supplies. It’s become a one stop shop for me when it comes to maintaining my home. I grab the Clorox Manual Toilet Bowl Cleaner Clinging Bleach Gel Value Pack and Fresh Scent and Citrus Blend Disinfecting Wipes.
Both can be found in store or online, along with the cleaning products.
In addition to providing my family with immune boosters during this time of year, it’s simply a must that I keep my home clean to fight off germs. Children love to touch door handles and walls, and let’s be honest……they don’t always wash their hands after using the bathroom no matter how many times you tell them to do it! I like to use the Fresh Scent and Citrus Blend Disinfecting Wipes, which are bleach-free by the way, to clean down multiple surfaces and door handles. The antibacterial wipes kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses and remove common allergens found around the home. The wipes are also great for wiping down toys. They are an amazing all-in-one cleaning alternative that are easy to use and help you get cleaning done fast so that you have more time in your day.
I don’t like cleaning toilets, but hey, it has to be done! I’ve been a long time user of Clorox Manual Toilet Bowl Cleaner Clinging Bleach Gel Value Pack. It kills 99.9% of bacteria and clings to your toilet bowl for 50% longer. Since my toilet is pretty much brand new I want to keep it sparkling! Clorox Clinging Bleach Gel is non-abrasive and has a thick formula that removes dirt and grime while also destroying germs and eliminating odor causing bacteria. The special nozzle allows you to get a deep clean under the bowl rim too.
So are you ready to deep clean?! Here’s a quick rundown to how I get it all done in one day:
* Wipe down & disinfect all surfaces, door handles, and base boards
* Dust all shelves, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
*Deep Clean Bathrooms with Clorox products
*Wash all bedroom linens
*Wash & Dry Dishes
*Take the trash out
Taking these simple steps to disinfect and clean your home will help you get this new year off to a great start and protect your family during the last third of the cold & flu season. Don’t forget to head out to The Home Depot for everything you need!
What is a “must do” for your deep clean routine?
