Georgia Day Trip: Jaemor Farms
A few weeks ago for a homeschool field trip, my children and I visited Jaemor Farms in the North Georgia Mountains. It’s about an hours drive from Atlanta, of course depending on the traffic, but well worth it! We headed there early in the morning, and spent the entire day checking out the farm, apple picking, playing games, petting animals, and shopping in the farmers market. Jaemor Farms covers 500 acres of farmland and it’s a family owned and operated business. It’s great for fall fun, as well as seeing how the business of running a farm operates. The Jaemor Farmers Market has something for everyone! Farm fresh food daily, as well as a bakery located in the rear of the store.
There is local peach jam made from the farms peaches!
Farm fresh honey and kettle corn. Growing up I loved these Caramel Apple pops. I let each of the kids pick one.
Apple Cider Donuts baked fresh daily in the farm market bakery.
We even got a behind the scenes peek at how the market is run.
The apples are picked daily from the orchard and go through a washing process.
We even got to pick a few apples ourselves!
BabyCake needed my help reaching the best one.
These apples are perfect for baking a pie or making an apple turnover.
There are lots of fun games on the farm too!

After the fun was had, we had peach and strawberry ice cream back in the Jaemor Farm market.

*Special Event: Live wood carving with chainsaws on Saturday, October 28th by Chad Gainey; Georgia’s own ‘Homegrown Band’ performing at the Shed 1-4 p.m. on October 28th as well!
