30 Day Self Love Challenge
If you’ve been following my Instastories over on Instagram then you’d know that I just completed 30 days of daily gratitude! When I started out on this journey, I knew that my goal was true self care. Right now I’m recovering from burn out. Throughout the year I’ve pushed myself too hard as a mother, wife, blogger, homeschool facilitator, and everything else that falls under the umbrella of what I do. I decided the end of the Year was the best time for me to be introspective and truly take care of myself and my mental health.
I see “self care” everywhere, and I talk about it a lot here on the blog. While self care is getting a mani and a pedi, getting your hair done, and buying yourself something nice, true self care is in the hard work of taking care of your mental health. We all experience different things in life that affect us, whether we share those things on social media or not. How you handle the hard times when they come up is what matters. True self care gives you the ability to handle the stressors of life better when they show up, rather than allowing everything to go up in flames.
Last month along with daily meditation, I started 30 days of daily gratitude. We all say we are grateful for what we have, but have you really examined all of the little things you’ve been blessed with? Everyday for 30 days I wrote down five new things that I was truly grateful for. It gave me the ability to see what I’ve been blessed with big and small. It was truly a transformative experience. Since I completed my 30 days of daily gratitude and it left me feeling amazing, I decided to go on to 30 days of self love.
I began my journey of true self love when I picked up Louise Hay’s book Love Yourself, Heal Your Life Workbook (Insight Guide) almost 15 years ago. (This is an affiliate link, so if you make a purchase from it, I will get a couple of coins from your purchase.) It truly changed how I saw myself. I recommend every woman to buy that book! In the book, Louise suggests writing down things you truly love about you, and not superficial things like “I have beautiful eyes, or nice hair, or a pretty face.” Yes those things are great, and some of us need to tell ourselves that too. But dig really deep and think of the things that make you truly awesome. What are those things?
For 30 days I want you to join me on the “Self Love Challenge!” Everyday attempt to write down 5 things you love about yourself. It may be hard when you start, it was hard for me. But I promise when it’s all said and done you will feel completely different about YOU! Check in with me over on Instagram using the hashtag #MWSelfLove or send me a DM to let me know how your progress is going!

December 29, 2017 at 9:41 amSooo .. I think I’m gonna catch up to you and do BOTH at once LOL 3 things I’m grateful for and 3 things I love about myself. (This came at a time where I saw something yesterday about what was good in 2017 and I couldn’t think of ONE thing! So this will help me remember the good stuff since we always only remember the bad or REALLY good.) Thanks! I think I’m blogging about this as well!
