The Jungle Book Review + Activity Pack
Last weekend my family was invited to an exclusive premiere of Disney’s The Jungle Book. Growing up, The Jungle Book was one of my favorite movies. I’ve memorized the words, songs, and love all of the antics from Baloo and Mowgli. The remake of The Jungle Book introduces a new generation to this well loved classic.
My children love both the original animated version of The Jungle Book, and the new version. The Jungle Book was both exciting and fun as it followed Mowgli through the jungle. He encounters quite a few animals along the way. Bagheera the panther is his caretaker and his main goal is getting Mowgli back to the man village where he will be safe from Shere Khan. Shere Khan terrorizes the entire jungle because he wants to capture Mowgli, and he won’t be satisfied until he’s back within his grips. Baloo is a fun bear who helps Mowgli to realize that life is simple, and things don’t need to be complicated to enjoy what the world has to offer.
We only get a short glimpse of Kaa, the massive python, in the movie as he tries to hypnotize Mowgli as he finds his way to the man village. One of our favorite parts of the movie was Mowgli’s encounter with King Louie, the massive Orangutan.
We enjoyed the movie and my kids sang “The Bear Necessities” for days to follow. I highly recommend catching Disney’s The Jungle Book in theaters now. Check out the fun activity pack for your kiddos below! Just right click to save and print.
