Spring Getaway: The Cottages on Charleston Harbor
As the first quarter was coming to a close, I was working really hard to meet deadlines as a mompreneur, homeschool my children, and take care of all of my household and wifely duties. I was well overdue for a break! Every mom should take a little moment to relax and recharge, even if it involves time with the entire family. We packed up the car and headed to The Cottages On Charelston Harbor!
The Cottages on Charleston Harbor is a few hours drive from Atlanta located in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Mt. Pleasant is right across the bridge and just a few minutes drive from Charleston’s Historic District. There are only 10 cottages, so you can rest assured that you will definitely relax in peace. Each cottage is a two bedroom three bath home away from home.
When we arrived it was still a little chilly outside so I was more than happy that the fireplace was going. The living room was extra cozy. I could just hang out in front of the fireplace and sip hot chocolate while relaxing.
There is a full kitchen in each cottage so you can prepare food at your leisure. You can bring groceries with you or head to one of the nearby supermarkets. Also really convenient is a washer & dryer as well as wifi for internet access. The cottages also have several flat screen tv’s inside for your viewing pleasure.
There was yummy cheese and crackers, fruit, and a snack basket for the kids waiting for us when we arrived.
My kiddos shared the second bedroom with double full sized beds towards the front of the cottage. They slept quite comfortably.
The master bedroom had this plush pillow top mattress that I couldn’t wait to sleep in. It was the best rest that I’ve gotten in a few weeks.
After a road trip, this spa like bathroom was everything that I needed!
The kids beat me to relaxing in this hammock on the porch, but I made sure to get my time in before we left. It’s perfect for reading a book, and watching boats go by on the harbor. The fully screened in porch has tables and chairs for entertaining as well as rockers.
Directly outside the back of our cottage was a sandy area with the most beautiful view! We were able to watch ships and boats go across the harbor. It was a real treat for my children.
Every morning the clubhouse offers complimentary deluxe continental breakfast. You can eat sitting on this beautiful patio or head back to your cottage to enjoy it.
Also located at the clubhouse is the swimming pool and Jacuzzi hot tub that overlooks the Charleston Harbor.
After an afternoon of relaxing, you can pick up a bike at the clubhouse and go for a ride around Patriots Point.
At the pier you can boat watch, or catch a water taxi that will take you into Charleston’s Historic District. Also just a few feet away is the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. When didn’t have time to visit this trip, but we’ve been there before and it was a great learning experience for the entire family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cottages on Charleston Harbor and all of the southern hospitality! It was exactly what this mommy needed to recharge. It’s the perfect location for a serene getaway for the family or a fun girls trip.
