Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park
This past weekend my family and I were invited out to Stone Mountain Park for the #SnowBlog15 event and to check out Snow Mountain! We arrived for fun in the snow at 1pm. A pass into Snow Mountain includes a two-hour tubing session and all day access into the snow play area.
I wasn’t sure what to expect as far as how much, or how little clothing I should dress the kids in because I had heard from other parents that they may get wet in the snow play area. I just dressed them in warm layers and they were fine. It was a beautiful 44F, and pretty warm in the sun. A lot of parents are concerned about their children being cold because we’re used to mild winters here in Georgia. If you are headed to Snow Mountain, it’s no need to go out and purchase a full snow suit for your child. We survived and had a great time!
There are a few different sections for snow fun, and some height restrictions to take note of.
Avalanche Alley – Family tube ride must be at least 36″ tall
Tube Runners – Single tube ride must be at least 42″ tall
Little Angels – For kids 3 & under, Max height 42″ tall
Snow Zone – Fun for all ages, Max height 54″ tall for Penguin Run
It’s no need to bring anything extra for tubing. All of the equipment is provided on site.
If you happen to forget your hat or gloves, you can purchase them on site as well as take a break making S’mores at the Snow Fire Point. After our snow fun, we took the Summit Skyride to the top of the mountain. BabyCake was clearing exhausted from playing in the snow!
We always enjoy ourselves when we head to Stone Mountain Park, and our time spent at #SnowBlog15 was no different! A big thanks goes out to the Stone Mountain Park team for a great day!
