Simple Park Play Date Snack Ideas
We’ve finally peeled off all of our winter gear and everyone is eager to get outdoors and enjoy the warm Spring weather. A Spring play date is the perfect time to enjoy some sunshine. When my family heads to the park with friends, we always grab a basket and fill it with a snack or two. Even if we’ve already eaten breakfast or lunch, I’ll still bring some better-for-you snacks because kids burn energy so fast. I want to make sure my little ones are consuming wholesome treats with little sugar instead of junk foods.
Here’s what you need to put in your play date snack basket:
1. Finger Foods – I primarily pack items like pretzels, animal crackers, and trail mix. These snacks are easy to grab and go. They minimize any mess that can happen, because of course kids love to make messes! I place them in cute containers so that each of my children can have their own.
2. Hand sanitizer or wipes – Water isn’t always available at the playground. I suggest bringing hand sanitzer or wipes for the entire family to use before and after your snack.
3. Capri Sun Organic – I really like Capri Sun Organic juice drink because it contains one serving of fruit in each pouch. **Each pouch provides 1/2 cup fruit juice which is one serving of fruit according to the U.S. Dietary Guidelines.** It’s only sweetened with 66% fruit juice and has no added sugar, so I don’t have to worry about my kids bouncing off the walls after our play date. It’s also certified USDA Organic, so I feel good that my children are getting something they can enjoy too.
You can find Capri Sun Organic at retailers nationwide for $4.29 per 10 pack of 6-oz. pouches. Containing no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives and delivering 100% of the recommended Daily Value Vitamin C, the juice drink comes in these flavors:
Fruit Punch
Tropical Punch
Apple
Grape
We’re all ready for some fun in the sun! Don’t forget your picnic blanket and shades!!
