My family received complimentary tickets to Sheep to Shawl at the Atlanta History Center, but all thoughts expressed here are my own.
Sheep to Shawl Atlanta History Center
Two weeks ago we went to the Annual Sheep to Shawl Festival at the Atlanta History Center. Sheep to Shawl at Atlanta History Center is a day of demos and hands on activities to show the process of wool from shearing a sheep to actually making a shawl!
Some of the activities included:
Petting Zoo
Spinners
Weavers
Open Hearth Cooking
Make Your Own Pottery
Natural Dyeing
Candle Dipping
Blacksmith Workshop
Woodworker
Basket Weaving
The kids were really excited to see the sheep shearing demonstration!
Then we were able to watch how the wool is spun into yarn.
I loved the hands on activities. We made our own candles.
But, I think our absolute favorite part of the day was the Petting Zoo. Who could resist these cuties?!
These baby goats enjoyed all the attention as they basked in the sun.
BabyCake wanted to know why Mr Alpaca had such large teeth!
The day was filled with a ton of fun at the Atlanta History Center. There was so much to learn and experience at Sheep to Shawl. Have you ever been to a Sheep to Shawl Festival? What did your family enjoy the most?
