This post is dedicated specifically for you! Yes you! Mommies spend so much time taking care of others sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. We have to maintain good self care so that we are able to continue to love and nurture our families 100%. If you don’t take care of you first no one else will. Before we can properly love others, we have to be able to love and nurture ourselves. Love begins with love of self.
Here are some ways to maintain good self care:
In the mornings try to get up earlier than the children to pray, read, and reflect. You can do this with your husband/spouse as well.
Make time for solitude, meditation, and relaxation. You can even do this after your children go to bed in the evening.
Go get a mani & pedi, have your hair done professionally.
Read a book and have a cup of tea during the kids quiet time/nap time.
Go to the mall alone and buy yourself something nice.
Take a quiet walk through the park alone to reflect.
Sit on the porch/patio/deck early morning listening to the birds chirp.
Say positive affirmations daily.
Have a spa day alone being pampered with massages.
Go to the gym for a hour for an adrenaline boost.
These are just some ideas and some of the things I try to do that allow me to maintain giving 100% to my family. What are some of the things you do?
