My family was provided a complimentary stay at Portofino Island Resort, located in Penscola, FL to facilitate this review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
Portofino Island Resort Pensacola Beach
Last week was really busy for my family. My husband and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, but we still had to square away work, homeschool, doctor visits, and unfortunately I dealt with identity theft all in the same week. Needless to say, a vacation was much needed! Pensacola Beach is about a five hour drive from Atlanta, and we enjoy the scenery along the way. I was very excited about heading back to the Gulf Coast because the white sand beaches and clear water is breathtaking.
Portofino Island Resort is more removed from the rest of the beach town and I appreciate that it’s further away from the busy, more touristy parts of Pensacola Beach. This gives the resort a more exclusive and laid back feel. After our arrival and check in, we made it up to our two bedroom, two and a half bath condo. These beautiful double doors were the entryway to our home away from home for the weekend.
The floor plan was very open, and the kitchen is perfect for entertaining as food is being prepared.
One of the many reasons I love staying with Wyndham Vacation Rentals & Resort Quest is that you can actually unwind during your stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and utensils. Our condo neighbors were very friendly and told us about a local fish market that is the best, called “Joe Patti.” We headed there, and bought fresh seafood for dinner and prepared it right in our condo kitchen.
Our patio was extremely spacious and had a gas grill that we used as well during the weekend. Steak anyone?!
From the living room, on each side of the condo was a bedroom. Since the master suite had a separate entrance for the patio, I could easily get in and out of my room for relaxing and watching the sunrise first thing in the morning without waking the kids up too early.
I was able to capture this beautiful view of the gulf around 6am. Can you see the moon still in the sky? It was a gorgeous sight!
Inside the master suite were his and hers closets, garden tub, and separate shower, along with a double vanity.
The boys shared this adorable room and had an awesome view of the ocean as well. BabyCake slept on the let out couch in the living room and loved every minute of it! With the let out couch, our two bedroom, two and a half bath condo had the capacity to accommodate six guests.
Located directly at the bottom of our building was the pool and beach access. I enjoyed sitting poolside while the children splashed around with new friends.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay this past weekend and it was the perfect way to wind down from our week.
Portofino Island Resort also has an array of activities to choose from, dining, shopping, as well as a fitness center. To learn more about the resort or book a stay, visit Wyndham Vacation Rentals or ResortQuest Gulf Coast!
Has your family ever traveled to Pensacola Beach?
