With all the winter weather and snow across the US, it may seem like Spring is really far away. The reality is that, it’s quickly approaching and now is the time to start planning your family vacation destinations. In this post I share a few things to consider when Planning a Family Vacation.
Since my children are homeschooled, and my husband is an entrepreneur, we have a lot of freedom to travel whenever we feel like it. With that freedom, I have gained experience first hand on what works when you’re traveling with kids, and the types of things you should look for when Planning a Family Vacation.
- Educational Aspects – When traveling with the family consider the educational benefits along with the fun. Just because school is out doesn’t mean learning has to stop. Put visiting local museums, zoos, and aquariums on the lists of places to visit when you travel. Learning about new things is fun for the whole family.
- Attractions – Think of what types of attractions would benefit the whole family when planning your vacation. When you check out amusement parks, make sure there are rides the the entire family can enjoy.
- Accommodations – When traveling as a family look for places to stay that have family friendly amenities. Free continental breakfast, kitchenettes, and laundry rooms are all a plus when traveling as a family. You can save money by eating breakfast at the hotel you are staying at for free first thing in the morning. Utilize a kitchenette and make your own lunch and dinner instead of eating out when traveling as a family. Cut back on over packing and use the provided washer and dryer to clean clothes since kids can go through many outfits a day.
- Relaxation – Make sure when planning your Family Vacation that you choose some relaxing activities to go along with all the fun. Sometimes it’s nice as a family just to take in nature and have a relaxing afternoon sitting on the beach.
Hopefully these tips will help you when Planning your Family Vacation for Spring Break or any occasion. Are you planning on utilizing any of my tips? Have any to add? Let’s connect! Leave a comment or find me on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter @mommyweek #mommyweek.
