My family was provided complimentary entry to Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta to facilitate this review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
Outside the Box is the newest exhibit to grace the walls of Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta. Outside the Box gets kids thinking in creative new ways, and allows them to use their imagination to come up with fun creations. The building possibilities are endless. Throughout the exhibit they will utilize and learn new math, science, engineering, and technology skills.
The Box Zone is filled with empty boxes, cylinders, and tubes allowing children to create whatever their hearts desire. This was my kiddos favorite part of the exhibit because they were able to build a rocket launch pad and vehicle assembly facility. There are more than enough materials to go around for everyone to construct and share their creations.
In the Maker Space, children are free to create a craft from the art materials available and build whatever they like. There are “Imaginators” on hand to help the children construct the featured craft, and even help them to take it a step further if they have their own fun ideas. My children decided to make rockets for the launch pad they built in the Box Zone.
We happen to be there just in time for a mini science experiment! The kids planted beans in between two cups and tissue to take home and watch them grow. This science experiment was easy and fun, and we are still benefiting from here at home two weeks later! The kids have since then moved their plants to a pot, and love watering and caring for them.
Also located in the Outside the Box Exhibit is The Imagination Playground. The Imagination Playground is filled with hands on games and activities encouraging math and technology exploration.
We were able to catch one of our favorite “Imaginators”, Mr Jerry for a Reading Rainbow interactive story time. The kids were attentive, and it’s always fun when Mr Jerry is presenting!
My kids loved Outside the Box at Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta and can’t wait to return!
