Our Experience at Dentistry for Children
A few weeks ago it was time for my kiddos biannual dental cleaning. I was on the search for a dental office that I felt comfortable with, and one that the kids would look forward to going to. A lot of children have a fear of the dentist, because they aren’t sure of what to expect. They think that going to the dentist hurts, or dental procedures are scary. Dentistry for Children does a great job at making children feel comfortable before, during and after their visit.
Dentistry for Children has 20 locations throughout the Atlanta area, so you can choose the office closest to your home. We visit the Dunwoody location. They see children of all ages from infancy through the teenage years.
At Dentistry for Children the front office staff is super friendly and helpful. Once we arrive and complete any necessary paper work, the kids are called back quickly. If you do experience a wait time, the front of the office is filled entertainment to keep your child busy.
There are complimentary arcade games that my oldest son really enjoys.
Kid friendly movies are playing throughout the office, in the front and in the back while children are having their dental procedures.
My little ones have so much fun in the front of the office, it’s hard to wrangle them up for their dental appointment! This makes them really calm and erases most of the fears they had of visiting the dentist beforehand.
Parents are able to be with their children every step of the way as they are being seen in the office. I really like that I can bring all three of my children in for a visit, and be near each one at the same time. The dental hygienists, assistants, and all of the dentists work very well with children.
I love that our hygienist told BabyCake that she had sparkles on her teeth and called her a princess. It made her really enjoy her appointment.
While children wait for the all clear from the dentist and any necessary results, there are iPads with educational games for them to play located in the back of the office.
After we’re all done and ready to go, there is a prize wall for kids to pick something fun after their successful visit to the dentist.
Dentistry for Children has also developed the “Tooth Fairy Connect.” The Tooth Fairy Connect is a dental education show that visits schools, daycare facilities, events, and religious institutions to teach children about proper dental hygiene. Luna The Tooth Fairy and Sonny The Monkey Puppet teaches kids all about how to keep a healthy mouth and beautiful smile. You can find Luna’s storybook online to read with your kids!
My kids love going to Dentistry for Children! They look forward to dental visits, and think it’s a fun time to visit the office. The entire staff is friendly, patient, and kind to both children and parents alike. For more information on Dentistry for Children, visit them Online, and on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
