5 Natural Remedies for Seasonal Allergies
I love the Spring! Flowers are starting to bloom, and the weather is warming up. Everyone can finally enjoy the outdoors…. or can we?!
Unfortunately Spring and seasonal allergies have become synonymous. With the pollen count reaching new record highs every Spring, it seems like everyone is plagued with sneezing, runny noses, and itchy eyes. Here in Atlanta, a layer of green pollen covers everything and it has already began. Everyone in my family is affected, so I’m sharing 5 Natural Remedies for Seasonal Allergies.
- Neti Pot – My family has used a Neti Pot for a few years. Neti Pot’s can help relieve congestion and other allergic rhinitis symptoms. Using a simple saline solution it can help you breathe freely again. Neti Pot’s have been used for hundreds of years in Ayurvedic practices. There is a slight learning curve, but it can be used by the whole family.
- Raw local honey – Eating a tablespoon of raw local honey can help fight off your allergy symptoms by creating immunotherapy. Local honey contains the same pollen spores your body is fighting against. Introducing your system to these spores can create a resistance to them over time. (Remember to never give honey to children under the age of 2!) Read more about the amazing, little known uses of raw honey here.
- Apple Cider Vinegar – Not just any apple cider vinegar, but the kind with the “motherload” in the bottom. Apple cider vinegar taken daily helps to alleviate sinus problems. congestion, and itchy watery eyes. It also works to boost your immune system and aid in detoxification. You can read more about ACV here.
- Tea Tree Oil – Adding a few drops of tea tree oil in your humidifier can do wonders for clearing a stuffy nose and congestion. Don’t have a humidifier? In a steamy shower/bathroom, place a few drops of tea tree oil on the shower floor.
- Probiotics – Consuming probiotics daily can reduce symptoms of seasonal allergies by reducing the amounts of certain proteins that cause hay fever.
Remember to talk with your Dr before starting any new supplements.
Do you or anyone in your family suffer from seasonal allergies? Are you going to use any of my Natural Remedies for Treating Seasonal Allergies?
