I participated in an Ambassador program on behalf of Influence Central for Pernix Therapeutics. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Make The Commitment to Get a Better Night of Sleep
This summer, I shared and put into practice several shut eye strategies to help me get a healthy nights rest. One of the biggest strategies that had an impact on my sleep was signing off from social media at least one hour before bedtime. Staying on social media in bed keeps your brain busy and active, and in turn keeps you awake longer. It doesn’t allow your body time to wind down and relax, thus falling asleep faster. As a result of putting these strategies into practice, I’ve been able to get to sleep faster and stay asleep longer. I always have problems with waking up in the middle of the night after I’ve fallen asleep. It has also helped that I’ve moved my phone away from my bedside for the night, so I don’t reach for it in the middle of the night. Sad that I do this, but true!
Even though most people know that insomnia is a problem, rarely do people seek out solutions and help for this major issue. Insomnia affects almost 4 million Americans, and a large number of moms like me and you who need their rest to be efficient and effective during the day. The tips that I’ve shared are extremely helpful, but may not be enough for some people.
Guess what? Insomnia is actually something you should talk with your doctor about! There are actually effective treatments available for those that want to achieve a good nights rest because it’s vital to your health. When chatting with your doctor, make sure to discuss your daily routine, lifestyle, and any symptoms of insomnia that you may think you’re suffering from. Honestly, because I fall asleep quickly I had no idea I had a problem with insomnia. My issue is resting throughout the night and is something that affects a large number of people.
