Kiawah Island Golf Resort
Recently my family spent the weekend at the beautiful Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina. Kiawah Island is located about 20 miles from historic Charleston, SC. The island meets the Atlantic Ocean and has a ten mile stretch of what has been called one of the top beaches in America. The resort is filled with southern charm, beauty, and the hospitality we received was top notch.
The resort has several options for accommodations including The Sanctuary Hotel, The Resort Villas, and private homes along the ocean. My family stayed in a luxury villa with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was the perfect “home away from home” for our stay. Each villa is equipped with a kitchen and laundry room that definitely comes in handy when vacationing beach side, as well as with the little ones. Each room has it’s own bathroom, and of course I fell in love with the master bath.
The resort has a wide array of dining options available to suit any taste bud. We had both dinner and Sunday brunch at The Jasmine Porch located inside The Sanctuary. The Jasmine Porch serves traditional low country cuisine including fresh vegetables from local farmers. The She Crab Bisque and Shrimp & Grits were my favorites!
Kiawah Island Golf Resort is much more than golf! The resort offers activities perfect for everyone in the family. Kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and lots of opportunities to spot wildlife in their natural habitat. We rode bikes down the beach and took an amazing boat ride to spot dolphins.
We actually saw a few dolphins and several species of birds. It was a great science lesson for the kids!
You all know, I’m a big believer in “me time!” I was definitely able to have some “me time” while on vacation at The Sanctuary Spa. The Spa and Salon at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort is actually one of only 23 Forbes Five Star Spas in North America. The spa offers a full line of services, and I was treated to an amazing island stone massage with aromatic and soothing oils. After a relaxing treatment, there is use of the spas vitality mineral whirlpool, steam room and sauna for the rest of the day. I left feeling completely rejuvenated!
We absolutely loved our stay at Kiawah Island Golf Resort! It was the perfect spring getaway, and I’m sure it will be even more amazing in the summer.
You can find out more about the resort at KiawahResort.com or on social media at Facebook, and Twitter.
Have you ever been to Kiawah Island? Do you have any special travel plans for your family this spring?
