How I Plan to Spend My Time Kid Free
This week I haven’t posted to the blog because I’ve been busy preparing my house for my in-laws brief visit, and packing my kids up for their annual trip with the grandparents. Every summer my mother in law has each one of her 14 grandchildren all together at once. That includes taking my clan for a few days to give me a much needed break. We’ve all been equally looking forward to this trip for months. My kids love to spend time with their cousins, and my husband and I need some time off from parenting. Me time and mom breaks are so necessary for self care and for maintaining mental health. This post will be short and sweet, because I need to get on to enjoying my time off!
Here’s what I plan to do with my downtime:
- Nothing. I’m normally going non-stop from sun up to sundown. I am planing on enjoying having to do nothing. Relax, lay around in pj’s, watch a show or two on Netflix, and I might even finish a book that I’ve picked up and put down a million times because I don’t have the time to read it. I will enjoy every minute of listening to the peace and quiet in my home.
2. I won’t clean. I purposely deep cleaned before the kids left so I wouldn’t have to do it while they’re gone. My husband and I will be eating off of paper plates and using plastic utensils. No dish washing for me!
3. I don’t plan on working. I appreciate every one of you who reads the blog, but I’ll be taking a break from writing too. You all know that MommyWeek is my business, but it’s also a one man show. I do everything here on my own and I need a break from it as well. Social media burnout is real, especially with all that’s been going on in the world lately. I have one post scheduled for next week. Otherwise, I’ll see you guys in about a week or so!
