Georgia Aquarium Aquanaut Adventure
Have you heard about the Georgia Aquarium’s newest exhibit? The Aquanaut Adventure is a new, hands on, interactive exhibit that helps families learn about aquatic life through a series of fun challenges and displays. The exhibit incorporates STEM education hoping to inspire children to learn more and develop an appreciation for our waterways and for the organisms that live there.
Before the adventure starts, your family is provided an iPad that will direct you through the routes. You must complete five of the seven challenges to obtain Georgia Aquarium Aquanaut status. I really like that you can select the difficulty level based on the ages of the members in your group. So it’s not too difficult for smaller children, and not too easy for the big kids.
The educational activities along the way were both engaging and fun.
We really love the hands on portions of the exhibit. The kids were able to get up close and personal with these sea stars and anemones.
There is also an amazing behind the scenes view of the aquarium. This is something we’ve never been able to see on our visits to the aquarium before this exhibit opened.
After completing each challenge the kids were really happy to get the answers right and felt really excited about what they learned.
We can’t wait to head back and try the Aquanaut Adventure again. If you’re headed to Georgia Aquarium, the Aquanaut Adventure exhibit is included free with your admission. It’s located on the upper level and takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Has your family tried the new Aquanaut Adventure exhibit? What’s your favorite part?
