Family Philanthropy: World Kindness Day Activity
Today, November 13th is World Kindness Day! World Kindness Day was introduced for the first time in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. It’s a day observed all around the world that encourages individuals to overlook our differences and simply “Choose Kind!” There are so many ways to get involved with your family today!! One of the ways that I’ve chosen to raise awareness and educate my children is through a spreading kindness activity. We received this Seedling Color the Earth Inflatable Ball Activity Kit just in time! In our World History & Geography studies we’ve been able to examine other countries and groups of people that are less fortunate than we are. In completing this activity kit, we are able to reflect and discuss what World Kindness Day means to us, and how we can be a little more kind today, and everyday. We are going tthe places on the globe where we would like to spread kindness all around the world.
While making the conscious decision to choose kind, we’re very excited about the upcoming movie “WONDER“!
Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.
WONDER starring Julia Roberts, Daveed Diggs, and Owen Wilson will be released in theater’s nationwide on this coming Friday, November 16th, 2017. I already know that I will love this movie! Check out the trailer below:
Let’s all remember to “Choose Kind” today for World Kindness Day! What activities do you have planned?
