Fall Fun Scavenger Hunt
Now that Summer is over, it’s many ways to get outside and enjoy the new season together as a family. I mentioned in my post last week that I would be sharing some Fall Fun & Getaway ideas perfect for this time of year. Last week the kids and I went on a Scavenger Hunt on a trail near our house. A Fall Fun Scavenger Hunt is a exciting way to discover and learn a few new things about nature and the outdoors. I’ve included a printable at the end so your family can enjoy a Fall Fun Scavenger Hunt as well!
We went on the South Peachtree Creek Trail in Dekalb County. I love that we can experience nature and not have to travel far from the city. This amazing bridge goes directly over some train tracks. We have yet to catch a train there, but I’m sure it would be a fun experience if we did.
While on the Scavenger Hunt, I make sure to remind the kids that certain things are off limit to touching. I’m excited that my middle son has proclaimed himself an entomologist, but in his studies he has to remain cautious. BabyCake knows these berries are nice to look at, but not okay for eating.
Here are some of the things we were able to see along the way. The kids got to check out an inchworm in motion, and several different species of caterpillars. More than likely that birds nest belongs to a hawk.
