DIY Potpourri Jars
Last year I made and shared to the blog a DIY Simmering Potpourri. I realized I could use the same concept, but make it prettier and you can put them in any room that you like since these are DIY Potpourri Jars. I have to warn you not to make these if you’re hungry. They really smell like a delicious pie, so another trip to the store may be in order for pie ingredients.
This pretty project cost under $10 dollars to create. I picked up these smaller mason jars and the twine from Dollar Tree. It’s one a few blocks from my house and I’m there weekly picking up nick knacks for my home.
Here’s What You Need:
Mason Jars
Fresh Cranberries
Sliced Lemons
Fresh Rosemary
Cinnamon Sticks
Water
Tea Light Candles
Arrange your fruits and herbs in the mason jar remembering not to pack them tightly. It only takes a little to fill up each jar. You want to make sure you have room for the water and the tea light on top.
Carefully pour the water in each jar. I used hot water but I don’t think it makes a difference. Then when you’re ready to smell the delicious aroma, place a tea light candle on top and light. These DIY Potpourri Jars last about two days before you have to dump them and start over. I like to close them with a lid, and open them when ready to light. These also make a pretty DIY gift for a friend or family member.
You can also use different variations of citrus fruits and herbs in your jars. I really like this cranberry and lemon combo.
Are you going to try my DIY Potpourri Jars? What are some of your favorite scents for the season?
