Huge thanks to Drive Shop and Mazda for coming through at the last minute and letting me test the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata while in Miami!
Cruising Through The Port of Miami in The Mazda MX-5
Recently my husband and I took a last minute trip to Miami…… sans kids! My husband had a client to meet with, and I just tagged along for the trip because….Miami! Upon our arrival at Miami International Airport, this beautiful 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata was waiting for me.
The 2016 Mazda MX-5 is sporty and handsomely crafted. This 2016 roadster is true to what you would expect from a Mazda MX-5, with some modern updates. My husband and I are really tall. I’m 5’11” and he is 6’5″. I was very comfortable in the Miata, but my husband was a little tight. He did a lot of the driving instead of myself and it was a little tricky for him to get in and out of the drivers seat. If you are shorter than 6’5″, I’m sure you’ll have no problem in the MX-5!
The 2016 Mazda MX-5 had a surprisingly ample amount of trunk space for a two seat roadster. We were only in Miami for two days, but there was more than enough space to fit more luggage, or bags from shopping.
The MX-5 features remote keyless entry, which of course makes life easier. Bluetooth hands free phone and audio pairing, which I always take advantage of. It’s so easy to connect your phone, and that way you don’t have to worry about reaching down to answer. You can easily answer a call and talk straight from the car without ever touching your cellphone. Push button start comes standard on each model of the MX-5, and this particular version had heated leather seats. We didn’t have to worry about using that feature, as Miami was near 100F while we were there!
Of course with the top down I could get a flawless selfie because the lighting was perfect!
Even though the 2016 Mazda MX-5 is a small and light car, it hugs the road and handles curves just like a professional race car would. It makes for a really smooth and comfortable drive. The MX-5 is great on gas too! It gets 36 miles per gallon on the highway and 27 miles per gallon on city streets. It’s a sports car that doesn’t make you sacrifice gas mileage for a cute vehicle.
Driving the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata through the Port of Miami was a blast! The MX-5 is a fun car, and has a great price point starting at $24K. For more info on the MX-5 and to find a Mazda dealer near you, visit mazdausa.com!

October 2, 2015 at 2:57 amIt took years before we traveled without our kids, so don’t feel bad. You’ll appreciate your time alone and then miss him sooner than you think.
