Back to School Breakfast Planning Made Easy
So far this summer, I’ve been taking it easy and going with the flow when it comes to meal planning and organization. Our homeschool schedule slows down significantly and we do light lessons during these hot days.
In a few weeks, it’s going to be time to kick things back in gear, and I have to be ready. I’ve found that when I’m up ahead of the kids, my day runs so much smoother than it would otherwise. The more I have my mornings planned, the better things go. Even though we homeschool, I still prep for back to school in August when our regular school schedule will resume. I plan out our breakfast meals in advance so our day can be less chaotic making me feel the most productive.
An easy way that I meal plan for breakfast is by using Ziploc® brand Containers and Bags for prepping. It’s simple to plan several meals ahead, as well as the night before so that I can save time in the morning. Ziploc® brand Containers have a space-saving design, so they stack well in the fridge or cabinets, saving room for the rest of your groceries. They have a One Press Seal® so you can snap your container closed quickly and keep your day moving.
We love to have smoothies for breakfast a few times a week, so I slice all of my fruit the night before and place it in a Ziploc® brand Container. You can even prep omelets, overnight oats, pancake batter, or even hash browns the same way.
For this yummy breakfast smoothie, I head to my local Kroger and pick up everything I need, including the Ziploc® brand Containers and Freezer Bags. They come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, and are useful for more than just food! You can use Ziploc® brand Storage Bags and Containers for school supplies, to store knickknacks around the house, or even to create a simple first aid kit to drop in your children’s backpacks.
In the mornings when I’m ready to make each one of my children a smoothie, I just take out the pre-labeled Ziploc® brand Container and place all of the contents into the blender, and blend until smooth. I choose a different breakfast for each day, and label them so the kids also know what to expect each day.
- Two Bananas Sliced
- 1 Handful of Strawberries with tops cut off
- 2 Peaches Sliced
- 1 cup of orange juice
- Ice optional
- After slicing and prepping fruit the day before, store in your Ziploc® brand container
- When ready to consume, place all contents in blender
- Add 1 cup of orange juice for sweetness
- Ice if you desire a chilled smoothie
- Blend until smooth
- Enjoy!
