Amazon Studios Tumble Leaf Review
Have you heard of Amazon Studios? Amazon Studios recognizes talented filmmakers and writers around the world that may not be able to get their great work noticed in Hollywood. They develop feature films and episode series in a new way, open to ideas from the creators and the audience.
I really like that Amazon Studios cares about what we, the viewers think about what we are watching! It really exemplifies their aim at sharing great stories.
My family was able to watch Amazon Studios new children series Tumble Leaf before it was released to viewers. Tumble Leaf is Amazon Studios first kids series geared towards pre-school aged children, but older children can benefit as well. It made it’s debut on May 23rd on Prime Instant Video.
Each episode of Tumble Leaf follows a day in the life of “Fig the fox” who lives in a wrecked schooner ship by the sea and his best friend “Stick,” a caterpillar who lives in a tiny basket strapped to Fig’s forearm, as they discover adventure, friendship and love around every bend.
As I watched Tumble Leaf with my children, I noticed that it teaches great skills that they need as they grow and develop in life.
Some of the traits illustrated were:
– Courage
– Bravery
– Friendship
– Exploration
– Taking Chances
– Imagination
– Hope
– Love
As a homeschooler, more specifically an unschooler, I believe in learning through play and exploration. I loved that in Tumble Leaf, everyday is a new adventure that leads to fun engaging activity and discovery. Tumble Leaf helps children utilize critical thinking skills and acknowledge the world around them. I recommend Tumble Leaf to parents who are eager to instill and inspire lifelong learning in their children.
Here is what my preschooler had to say about Tumble Leaf:
I like “Maple” because she gets honey from Hive Hollow and shares it with her friends. I really like “Fig” and all of his friends and want to watch Tumble Leaf again and again!
Want to check out Tumble Leaf for yourself? Find the clip HERE.
Tumble Leaf has also recently launched a free Android app that features six games inspired by educational activities from the show. You can download the app HERE.
Not only did my preschooler enjoy Tumble Leaf, but my 6 & 8 year old’s found it very entertaining as well. You can find Tumble Leaf now on Amazon Prime Instant Video and the first episode is available to watch now for FREE!
Are you going to watch Tumble Leaf with your children?
