Try These Tips for Easier Home Organization
1. Make sure everything has a proper place. Everything in your house has to have a place to go. Laundry baskets, cabinets, drawers, etc. If you need to, invest in some plastic storage containers to put things away and stack in closets out of sight.
2. Check mail as soon as you get it and shred it if you don’t need to hold onto it. Consider making all your bills paperless. Trash all junk circulars before they make it inside the house from the mailbox. Make sure the mail has a specific basket to go in, in your kitchen or home office.
3. Junk drawers! We all have them! That one drawer in the kitchen or bathroom you throw everything in. Don’t! Throw out what you don’t need and get dividers from IKEA, Target or Walmart that fit inside and can keep everything tidy until you need it.
4. Laundry! Make sure there are hampers in the bathrooms and closets. Laundry has to go in a specific place. I know there is one special person in every family that throws laundry on the floor. Everyone has to do their part in putting their dirty laundry in a specific place. After doing laundry don’t live out of the clothes basket. Make sure all of the clothes are put away in their proper places.
