Create An Inspiring Affirmations Board for Back to School 

I know it absolutely feels like summer just got started, but it’s time to start prepping for back to school! Some of our children start back to school in about two weeks. We all know that kids need the basics for back to school, like pens, pencils, crayons, markers, and notebooks – but what about making this time of year extra inspiring for your student?! I expressed in a previous post and on Instagram that Menaal was interested in being a writer, and she is currently writing a book. So what better way to stay inspired while writing than looking at positive affirmations everyday?! I decided to head to Walmart for everything I needed! Don’t sleep on Walmart, they have the best everyday low prices. So you can grab what your kids need without making any sacrifices. 

Why Create an Inspiring Affirmation Board 

I’ve been saying positive affirmations for years and they are so important in my everyday life. Our children need to feel good about themselves as they start their day, and therefore they will be more eager to achieve their goals. What we think, we believe and positive affirmations have the power to shape our thoughts. How amazing is it for our children to start the new year with motivating words?! Affirmations are best said in the morning, so it’s perfect for children to wake up to positive words that they can read and say before getting the school day started. 

How To Create An Inspiring Affirmation Board

I grabbed everything I needed from Walmart and you can shop all of the items below! Corkboard, markers, color pencils, pens, pencils, index cards, push pins, and your choice of mounting hardware. Write down whatever positive notes and sayings that come to mind. These notes and affirmations will also be a great way to bond between you and your children. They will always remember the sweet words their mom shared with them before school.  Here are a few I added to my daughters board, and you can use these to get started:

I plan to add more affirmations and sweet notes daily, and even putting up a corkboard with affirmations in the boys room as well! The kids need constructive encouragement everyday to get through the school year. It can make such a big difference to keep them motivated as they do their schoolwork. I love that Walmart has so much school gear with inspirational sayings and I grabbed a lot of it already. I’m even thinking about heading back and getting a few of the back to school notebooks for myself! I love a good notebook!
