5 Unrefined Organic Skincare Products to Combat Dry Skin
Recently I talked about 10 Ways to Combat Dry Skin Naturally and now I’m sharing some all natural, organic, and unrefined skincare products that will help your skin to retain moisture especially during these cold winter days.
Shea Butter
Pure, unrefined, raw Shea Butter is one of my absolute favorite moisturizers for skin. It’s rich in vitamins A&E. Shea Butter fights against wrinkles and dry skin. It aids in stretch mark prevention and works as a natural sun screen and protects skin from sunburn. Shea Butter is also useful in treating conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.
African Black Soap
African Black Soap is made from the ashes of burnt plantain leaves, cocoa pods, palm oil, and Shea Butter. Sound strange? It is purely an organic and natural skincare product that will help your skin repair itself and retain moisture. It’s rich in iron, vitamin A, K, &E. It deeply cleanses the skin and softens it at the same time. It’s known for treating and healing acne and promoting even toned, youthful skin.
Coconut Oil
Coconut Oil is normally sold in specialty grocers or health food stores for cooking. Did you know it has so many other uses? I love using Coconut Oil right after a shower. It smells so good, and makes your skin feel velvety soft. Coconut Oil naturally hydrates, seals in moisture, and softens skin. It has antibacterial properties and acts as an antioxidant. Ladies, in addition to naturally combating dry skin, Coconut Oil is an awesome natural makeup remover.
Cocoa Butter
Because Cocoa Butter is rich in fatty acids it works wonders in hydrating and combating dry skin. It absorbs into the skin quickly leaving behind no greasy residue. Cocoa Butter is useful in fighting against skin conditions such as eczema and preventing unsightly stretch marks.
Pure Mango Butter
Pure unrefined Mango Butter has properties similar to those found in raw Shea Butter. It relieves and soothes itchy skin caused by dryness. It’s filled with antioxidants, vitamins, and has a high fatty acid content. Those fatty acids are important for your skin enabling it to retain moisture and elasticity which in turn fight against wrinkles. Mango Butter also has a light sweet smell which is also a plus.
All of these natural skincare products are safe to use on sensitive skin and can be found online or at specialty beauty and health stores.
